Everyone's favorite practically perfect nanny takes the stage in this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious musical adventure. One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven TONY Awards, including Best Musical.


Synopsis: The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it." 


Important Details

Our summer musicals are jam packed with excitment and creativity. This is one of our most popular yearly programs and performances, we take a full scale musical and get it stage ready in four weeks. Our shows always have lots of interesting and fun characters for our actors to tackle. Our staff creates an engaging and encouraging environment. And our shows wow audiences year after year. An amazing experience for any actor.


Important Details:

  • Rehearsals are July 25 - August 18, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4:30pm

  • Rehearsal Location: CPTC Studio, 1 Main St. W, Beeton. This location is in the heart of Beeton and a short walk from the local park with playground, splash pad, and sports field which actors will visit daily weather permitting.

  • Tech Week Location:  August 15, 16, 17, 18 rehearsals will be on location at the theatre in Cookstown (NOT BEETON) from 9am to 4:30pm.

  • Public Performances: August 19 - 21, 2016. Friday – Saturday shows start at 7pm. Sunday shows start at 2pm

  • Tickets: Advance online sales are $12 child $15 adult (subject to service fee and HST) At the door prices are $20 child and $25 adult (HST included in door price). Cash only at the door.

  • Performance Location: The Old Town Hall Theatre (South Simcoe Theatre) Cookstown, at 1 Hamilton Street

  • ˜Package pricing: If your child is registered for more than one class in the 2015/2016 season cost for this program is $677 per actor and includes HST ($599.12 + $77.88). This price will be available until March 31 and may be held by deposit. After the 31st the regular price will take effect.

  • ˜Regular Pricing:  $735 per actor and includes HST ($650.44 + $84.56). If you require a payment plan please view our payment plan form for information on paying with post-dated cheques. Full payment or payment plan must be handed in with registration form to secure space.

  • ˜Orientation & Auditions will be held on June 25 from 10am to 12:30pm. All registers actors must attend. Our musical director will run a voice warm up and teach a short song, our choreographer will teach a short movement combination, and each student will be placed in a small group to work on a selection from the script at a group. All actors will be there full the full scheduled time.

  • ˜Food: Students must bring their own lunch & snacks. Concession items will be available by cash only (chips, snack bars, juice, etc.). All students must bring a refillable water bottle with them each day.

  • We do offer Pizza days & Ice Cream Days during the week. Details will be sent out via email in June.

  • ˜Attendance is extremely important for the rehearsal process. Our staff works hard to schedule our week so that we can fit in all we have to do to get the show ready. Each time a student is missing it affects the productivity of our rehearsals. It is expected that actors will attend ALL rehearsals and performances. Our staff reserves the right to re-cast any student whose absence becomes a hindrance to the rehearsal process. All Tech Week rehearsals and performances are mandatory.


*students having just graduated high school or who are returning for an extra year are still eligible to register.
